The journal publishes quality articles on accounts of action research projects, explorations in the philosophy and methodology of action research, and considerations of the nature of quality in action research practice.

Journal of Community Engagement and Higher Education (ISSN 1934-5283)
Online, refereed journal concerned with exploring community engagement and community-based learning perspective, research, and practice.  The journal publishes accounts of a range of research focusing on practical and theoretical insights and understanding, in higher education and across the disciplines and professions. There is a focus on case studies emphasizing community engagement and engaged learning practices, methodology, and pedagogy.

Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship (ISSN 1994-1207)
Established in 2008, JCES is a peer-reviewed international journal through which faculty, staff, students, and community partners disseminate scholarly works. Journal of Experiential Education (ISSN 1053-8259)
The Journal of Experiential Education (JEE) is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing refereed articles on experiential education in diverse contexts. The JEE provides a forum for the empirical and theoretical study of issues concerning experiential learning, program management and policies, educational, developmental, and health outcomes, teaching and facilitation, and research methodology.  The Journal welcomes submissions from established and emerging scholars writing about experiential education in the context of outdoor adventure programming, service learning, environmental education, classroom instruction, mental and behavioral health, organizational settings, the creative arts, international travel, community programs, or others.

Learning Communities Journal
Peer-reviewed journal published by and for faculty, faculty developers, and administrators at universities and two- and four-year colleges to share research about, experiences with, and student and faculty learning through learning communities. The Journal provides a scholarly, written forum for discussion about all areas affecting faculty and student learning communities, and gives community participants the opportunity to share proven, innovative strategies and thoughtful, inspirational insights.

Learning Communities: Research and Practice (ISSN 2375-804X)
Learning Communities Research and Practice (LCRP) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that provides a forum for higher education faculty, staff, researchers, administrators, and students to share current research, effective practices, critical reflections, and resources related to student learning communities in higher education. The purpose of LCRP is to promote practices and knowledge that strengthen the learning communities field.

MJCSL is an open-access journal focusing on research, theory, pedagogy, and other matters related to academic service-learning, campus-community partnerships, and engaged/public scholarship in higher education.

Partnerships: A Journal of Service-Learning & Civic Engagement (ISSN 1944-1061)
Partnerships recognizes that successful engaged learning depends on effective partnerships between students, faculty, community agencies, administrators, disciplines, and more. The articles in this peer-reviewed journal focus on how theories and practices can inform and improve such partnerships, connections, and collaborations. Studies co-authored by faculty, students, and/or community partners; or examining practices across disciplines or campuses; or exploring international networks, are all encouraged. 

PRISM: A Journal of Regional Engagement (ISSN 2160-892X)
PRISM is a peer-reviewed multi-disciplinary journal that seeks to discover, share, and promote best practices for such university-region engagement through the creation, application, and integration of knowledge.

Progress in Community Health Partnerships: Research, Education, and Action (ISSN 1557-055X)
Progress in Community Health Partnerships (PCHP) is a national, peer-reviewed journal whose mission is to identify and publicize model programs that use community partnerships to improve public health, promote progress in the methods of research and education involving community health partnerships, and stimulate action that will improve the health of people and communities.

Public: A Journal of Imagining America (ISSN 2326-2567)
Public is the e-journal of Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life. It promotes scholarship and practice across arts, humanities, and design, including texts, literature, video, photography, performance, sound, historical representation, and interactive media. It focuses on the integration of cultural expression with other forms of knowledge to animate and deepen engagement with civic life. We are interested in interdisciplinary contexts such as the arts in economic development, humanities and social justice, design and environmental stewardship. We encourage more than one perspective on subjects addressed, and the crossing of traditional divisions of knowledge and professional sectors (i.e., educational, artistic, business, governmental, neighborhood-based).

Reflections: A Journal of Community-Engaged Writing and Rhetoric (ISSN 1541-2075)
Reflections focuses on how community-based writing projects 1) contribute to our knowledge of theories, practices, and uses of writing and rhetoric; and 2) alter traditional pedagogy and research practices of composition and rhetoric and allied fields.  We seek to publish the academic research that emerges from community-engaged writing projects as well as the non-academic genres produced by project participants—the poetry, essays, photographs, and memoirs that often emerge from such work. We invite submissions from anyone who has been involved in a service-learning, community literacy, or community writing project, including community members, university, college, or public school faculty, students, and activists.

Science Education and Civic Engagement: An International Journal
Explores constructive connections between science education and civic engagement. It focuses on using unsolved, complex civic issues as a framework to develop students’ understanding of the role of scientific knowledge in personal and public decision making. Published articles include topical reviews, research studies on teaching and learning, and connections between science education and public policy.
