The Wagner College Friends of the Library group works closely with the Dean of the Library and the Office of Institutional Advancement to provide the most effective Library services to students and faculty. It promotes and supports the use of advanced technology to enhance available resources by participating in fund raising activities for Library projects. The Library is also the venue for a variety of campus-wide events including art exhibits and other special programming. The Library strives to be a vibrant and dynamic presence on campus. The Friends of the Library are central to that mission.

Browse the blue tabs above to learn more about the benefits of being a Friend of the Library, new initiatives, events and exhibits, and how to make a donation to the Horrmann Library.

Planning and organizing are spearheaded by the FoL Steering Committee, but membership is open to anyone interested in the support, promotion, and growth of the library and Wagner College.

In Memoriam

Former Friends of the Library remain in our hearts and minds. Our gratitude for their support of the Horrmann Library and of past and future Wagner students abides.

Diane Borst Manning Berg, '59, M'62 - Diane was the first and founding chairperson of the Friends of the Library. She will be greatly missed.

John Deane, '53 - John was a talented sculptor, gardener and environmental activist. His love of Wagner is reflected in his participation in the Friends and his generous donation of two of his sculptures which can be found on display in the library, for the enjoyment of all.

Carl Westerdahl, '59 - Carl was a very active Wagner College alumnus, mobilizing the Class of 1959 as its 50th anniversary reunion approached and organizing “Wagner ’59 and Friends,” which raised the money that made possible the construction of the Class of 1959 Learning Commons in Horrmann Library, a suite of four high-tech group study rooms adjacent to the library’s Great Room that were dedicated in 2011.

Donations may be made in honor of any Friend or alumnus through the Wagner College donations page (please select "Restricted" donation and then choose "Friends of the Library" and add a personal note in the comments section).
